Can the Zombie Apocalypse teach us about gun control

It seems like ever other week there is a crazy mass shooting. So far this year there has been shootings at the mall, schools, during a firefight, movie theater, and not to mention the many shootings that occur daily in urban neighborhoods. I use to be a strong believer that every person should have the right to own a gun. But if you watch The Walking Dead or other zombie films. You would know that not everybody should have a gun. People that don"t know how to use guns end up wasting bullets, get "gun power happy", and may end up killing them selves. In case of a Zombie Apocalypse, in order to survive you are going to want to have guns nearby but specifically with someone that knows how to shoot and does not have mental problems. If you have a person with mental problems and they hold the only gun in your group, you may not survive. That person may go crazy and end up killing you before a zombie even gets to eat you. This case scenario really questions the 2nd amendment. Should we have the right to bear arms? Lets say someone has mental problems and they own a gun and if a rescue party is coming to rescue them at their house from the zombies. Your not going to want that person shooting at the rescue party. Now on another note. What about extra long banana clips? The only time I can see anyone needing these is if there is a Zombie Apocalypse or if your going to war. Other than that there is no reason why a civilian should have one of these. You don't need an assault rifle to go hunting. So this is what I think should be done. To own a gun you should have a 1. background check 2. credit check at least once a year (including Law Enforcement) 3. mental evaluation at least once a year (including Law Enforcement) In the case of Assault Rifles. If you have watched enough zombie movies you would know that they can help you if they are in the right hands they can save you and kill you if they are in the wrong hands. Regardless who has them if its the Government or a civilian, they go trigger happy. This has been proven in zombie films where people end up killing innocent civilians in order to quarantine the virus from spreading. Guns dont kill people. Bad people with guns kill people. Good people with guns can protect you.
