LAUREL, Md. -
A security guard has been shot inside a grocery store Thursday night in Laurel.
The shooting occurred around 9 p.m. at the Bottom Dollar store in the 12600 block of Laurel Bowie Road.
Police say two men wearing masks walked into the store and got into a confrontation with the store's security guard.
Cpl. Larry Johnson of Prince George's County Police says the security guard's weapon was taken from him during the incident.
The security guard was taken to the hospital. He is in serious condition and is expected to survive.
Johnson says there is surveillance video from inside the store. Police are also interviewing witnesses at the scene.
